Montpeliermusic.net Goes Live

I love these posts.  I swear almost every band in the history of the internet does a news post about their website either starting up or getting a makeover.  Some try to hide the fact they’re doing it by repeating some old news about their album or something in the same post.  Others do it and it’s obvious they had nothing else to post about.  I thought I’d continue this stupid tradition and unashamedly point out how stupid it actually is.  Dappled Cities probably summed it up the best for me when they updated their website.  This is some of what they posted:

It’s a fairly moot point isn’t it – the fact that we have a new website.  And the above picture is a little redundant, because why do you need a picture of something you’re already looking at?  Why do you need a news post for something you already know about?  It’s not even a post where you get to look in and in for eternity, like when you hold a mirror up to a mirror.

Exactly.

Anyway, here’s our first ever incarnation of montpeliermusic.net (well that’s not entirely true, we’ve had a holding page up here with links, but this is the first real site).  We run this site and we post everything up here so don’t be too cool to get involved.  Comment about stuff, say hey, tell us about your favourite bands and awesome shows you’ve seen recently.  We’ll be updating all the time and would love to hear all your thoughts.  Download the songs for free, buy a limited release if you want to.  There’s more to see and do but I know you’re all clever enough to navigate around.  But definitely say hey.  We’ll definitely say hey back and then we can chat about the awesomeness of music.

While we’re here, I want to throw a massive high five to Scott Tonges who put this site together.  Scott’s a web design guru and also one of the creators/writers of newly founded Brisbane music blog scenewave.com.  I saw you hovering your mouse over that link.  Go back and click it.

Thanks for visiting.
