Beeeeeeeeee Sides
Helloooo. Today I’m in a really good mood because we just had a great weekend despite it being tumultuously hectic. Thanks times a thousand if you made it along to one of our three shows over the weekend. It was an important week for the Brisbane music scene and it was awesome to see your fabulous faces.
So those shows were great but what’s making me really happy is that we also snuck back into the recording studio on Saturday and Sunday to start tracking some extra songs. We’ll be finishing two new tracks over the coming week and we’re ever so stoked about it.
Maybe we haven’t told you yet but we’ll be releasing the first single from the debut record we made in America next month. Alongside it will be one of the two new tracks we’re doing now. For all you crazy Gen Y’s out there (like myself) and Gen Z’s (actually have we hit Gen Z, I don’t really know) you may not remember that in the old days, like when our parents were actually young (all I can hear as I’m writing this is “You know we were teenagers once too” in that really annoying parent voice), there was something called vinyl. You put it on a record player and it would spin around and when it had reached the inside you had to turn it over. When a single was released on 7 inch vinyl the first side you listened to was called the A side (typically the single) and the other side was called the B side (which could have been anything from a completely new track not on the upcoming album or a remix of the single). Well in homage to yesteryear these two new tracks are going to be the B sides for the singles off the upcoming record. One you will get to hear very soon and the other will find it’s way to your ears at some stage I can assure you. For a more detailed history lesson on B sides read this Wikipedia article on the topic. Since it’s Wikipedia you can guarantee it’s 100% accurate yeah? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-side_and_B-side
I’ve kind of forgotten what I was talking about…
That’s right, we’re recording, it’s awesome, I forgot how much I missed being in the studio and we are absolutely busting for you to hear our record. Next month, promise.
Video coming soon…
